I'm an Assistant Professor in the Department of Watershed Sciences at Utah State University. My group's research centers around understanding the future of high mountain regions amidst a rapidly declining cryosphere (e.g., glaciers, snowpack). This work integrates everything from direct effects on biodiversity to impacts for humans. Whenever possible, we link knowledge gained to real-world applications and co-produce much of our work with a variety of local, state, and federal agencies.

We're always happy to hear from anyone interested in our work--e.g., collaborators, prospective students or postdocs, or members of the media. If you'd like to chat, send me an email: scott.hotaling (at) usu.edu.
